Our Goals

District Comprehensive Education Plan


By June 2021, all district leaders, assistant principals and teacher leaders will ensure schools are provided targeted support around developing, implementing and providing high quality, rigorous, and differentiated instruction (blended and remote) through advanced literacies embedded in the curricula (Wit and Wisdom, and Eureka Math) utilizing the Specially Designed Instruction/UDL model to create equity and access and measurably improve ELA and Math instruction of the bottom quartile, Students with Disabilities, Students in Temporary Housing, and English Language Learners in grades K-8 by 10%.

By June 2021, 100% of District 19 schools will embed social emotional supports and culturally responsive instruction within the school to ensure students learn in a safe environment and inclusive culture that is conducive to student and adult learning. Students and adults will create a respectful, welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and supported as measured by CRSE practice evident in the curriculum and all schools implementing their SEL plans.

By June 2021, District 19 school leaders, assistant principals, and teacher leaders will engage in instructional leadership professional learning grounded in the hallmarks of advanced literacies embedded in the new rigorous curricula (Wit and Wisdom, Eureka Math) to provide support and ensure its effective implementation, which will strengthen the instructional core, and provide access to learning and differentiated support for all learners resulting in at least 10% increase in student achievement for all subgroups (MLL, SWDs, G&T, Boys of Color ).


By June 2021, all District 19 schools will embed eSTEM structures/elements within their school program, provide support, and ensure its effective implementation to provide scholars the opportunities and access to engage in scientific and technological innovations that will enhance their critical thinking and problem-solving skills and will prepare them for the competitive and rapidly growing STEM based occupations and industry.


By June 2021, District 19 CSS Team will develop strategic action plans for schools alongside the school leaders and Borough Office team that are aligned to the CEP goals in order to continually monitor progress towards meeting those goals, and provide targeted feedback and supports that will result in increased student achievement with schools meeting their intended outcomes set forth in the CEP.
